'Grey Desert' (2010) is a concept album by Bulgarian prog metal band Yuvigi. The LP contains nine tracks, which tell the story of man's life - the pure, free spirit, later being shuttered against the dogmas of society; the grey daily round that sooner or later marks our lives; and the struggle to stay true to one's self, against all odds.
'Different' is the moment of personal catharsis, when the Man finally realizes he is not like everybody else. He starts seeing the reality - people walking pass him with cold, unseeing eyes, swept by the tides of their busy lives, and the fear grasps him - will anybody hear his voice in the crowd? Will he ever be able to escape these grey walls?
'Alone' is the second instrumental in the album. It's atmosphere corresponds with the character's feelings and thoughts. He is sitting alone in his apartment, listening to an old gramophone record, gradually falling into depression.
lyrics
